One equally important event at the AU Summit in Ethiopia was the 2016 Kwame Nkrumah Scientific Awards ceremony launched since 2008.
Five African female scientists were awarded a cash prize of $20,000 each in the regional level of the Awards.
Two professors from Ghana and Egypt won the top prize worth $100,000 dollars each.
