Egypt FA board dissolved over rigged 2012 elections

The Egyptian Football Association board has been dissolved over allegations of rigging during the 2012 election, the Supreme Court ruled on Sunday.

The lawsuit was filed in 2013 by the president of the second division football team Bani Ebeid, Hermas Radwan, challenging the integrity of the voting process in the association’s 2012 elections.

Media reports suggests that the decision is final and cannot be appealed.

Egyptian FA president, Gamal Allam, wants no distractions amid dissolution reports ahead of their second leg meeting against Nigeria on Tuesday.

“In this time we think only about the match against Nigeria and we do not want anything to distract the team,” he told Egyptian TV.
