A grenade explosion has killed at least two people in Madagascar during the country’s national day celebrations in the capital, Antananarivo,official say.
A military official, Gen. Anthony Rakotoarison told AFP about 700 people were wounded in the blast.
He said officials considered it a “ terrorist act”.
Political situation in the country remains fragile with supporters and opponents of president Hery Rajaonarimampianina at loggerheads.
In 2014, a grenade explosion killed a toddler and injured several other people outside the same stadium.
