Sudan has denied claims in a report by Amnesty International alleging the use of chemical weapons on civilians in the troubled country. However the rights group has documented deaths, and conditions which it says are a result of the effects of dangerous chemicals. The chemical attack dates back to when government forces launched a large-scale military campaign in the Jebel Marra area in Darfur.
