Iranian influx boosts Iraq's Arbaeen pilgrimage
Twenty million pilgrims, swollen by a record influx of Iranians, have converged on the Iraqi shrine city of Karbala to mark Arbaeen, an annual Shiite festival that culminates Saturday. It is one of the world's largest religious gatherings, watched closely in Iraq and neighbouring Iran, both of which have a Shiite majority.
