This is not a rugby haka dance but a demonstration before the elephant polo tournament in Thailand.
14th Edition of Elephant Polo Tournament held in Thailand
The rugby sensations are part of the invited guests in the annual event that aims to better the lives of the world’s most endangered species in the country.
“We’ve been fortunate that, to be able to come here for a number of years now. It’s a great event, great people and it’s a very good cause for the elephant sanctuary,“said former New Zealand All Blacks rugby player.
Twenty elephants are participating in the four-day event that is expected to raise funds to provide the pachyderms with medical attention.
“After each tournament we have many more chances to just do good, help to the domesticated and the wild elephants with new projects, new partners as well, new foundations that are teaming up with us. So I think that’s the biggest and best news and of course, we’re gonna have lots of fun this week,“said Tim Boda, one of the event organisers.
More than $400,000 was raised in the 14th edition of the tournament, the amount will be donated to various elephant conservational projects in the country.
