Algerian arrested in Italy in connection with Brussels attack
Djamal Eddine Ouali was apprehended in Italy after Belgian authorities issued an international arrest warrant against him.
The 40-year-old Algerian man is suspected to have provided fake documents to be used in illegal immigration.
According to police, Ouali’s name appeared in documents in an apartment that was raided in October during a crack down of terror cells.
Furthermore, he is suspected of providing a forged document that was used by one of the suicide bombers in Tuesday’s attack in Brussels that left at least 31 people dead. Islamic militants targeted Brussels Airport and a city Metro station in attacks.
Ouali might be extradited to Belgium in the coming days, according to a statement from the Italian police.
