Oculus Rift has began delivering the consumer Virtual Reality(VR) headset to customers who first ordered in January.

Chief Executive Office Brendan Iribe announced on twitter with a picture of the retail boss of the Rift.

The founder Palmer Freeman Luckey also posted a video on facebook showing him delivering the an autographed product to first customer in Alaska, USA. Ross Martin, first person to have pre-odered it.
“I have been working on this thing for so long ..Its kind of like me taking all this work and handing it off to you to make sure you like it,” Luckey said
Ross described the VR headset as the “incredible” and “the coolest thing” and he was ready to “go see the world.”

The Rift headset the first to get to the customer is going on sale for $ 599. It will also be available at selected retailers in limited location in April as stated on its website.
Next to reach customers is the HTC VR headset at a cost of $799 dollars in April
While the PlayStation from Sony is also due in October but at a much cheaper price of $399 dollars.
Facebook bought Oculus in 2014 at a cost of $2 billion.
After video games, virtual reality(VR) is said to be the next big thing. It is worn like a pair of goggles giving customers a 360 degree of images and games that make you feel part of it.
