From street to street, house to house, the fight between the allied forces and the Islamic State rages on in Sirte, a community located 450 kilometers east of Tripoli, Libyan.
Heavy combat raging in Sirte, ISIS stronghold in Libya
The allied forces with the Libya unity government is battling to dislodge the Islamic State and retake the group’s strongholds in the area.
The force have been facing fierce resistance including a series of suicide car bombings.
IS had taken control of the area in 2015 and made it its main base of operation in the North African country.
The troops had made their way into Sirte on Wednesday and have been advancing against IS.
The Islamic state militants had launched three suicide attacks against Libyan government forces in an attempt to stop them from advancing inside their stronghold.

On June 11, Libyan forces said they had regained control of the port in Sirte.
Sirte is the home town of ousted ruler, Muammar Qaddafi and the most significant IS stronghold outside Iraq and Syria.
