South African police have launched a probe in the deadly shooting at a popular shopping destination in the rainbow nation.

At least two people were killed in a shooting incident outside the Mall of Africa in Midrand.
According to the police spokesperson, the two had been standing in the taxi rank when two unknown suspects in a white VW Polo approached them to ask for directions.

While they were being guided to their destination, they produced their firearms and killed them on the spot.
He also said investigations into what transpired have commenced but the culprits are still at large.
It’s still unclear what motivated the Sunday night shoot-out but it’s highly suspected it could be due to a taxi war at the newly opened mall.
Over the recent months, tension has been brewing among taxi associations over plying the lucrative route.
