Ugandan cargo truck drivers remain stranded at the border with South Sudan. The tankers are a particular target and drivers fear to cross the conflict ridden country.
Cargo truck drivers stuck between Uganda and South Sudan border
Gunmen reportedly ambushed the trucks on the road to the South Sudanese capital Juba this week and some were told by the South Sudanese army forces to turn back.
The recent spike in fighting and the breakdown of what little law and order there was, means few are willing or able to make the 200 kilometre (120 mile) journey from Nimule to Juba.
Many of the trucks are carrying food and medical supplies, both of which are in short supply in Juba after days of intense gun battles from Friday to Monday.
This happens against the backdrop of the arrival of the Ugandan army on Thurdsay, to evacuate some 3000 stranded.
