Assistant Secretary of the Arab League Ahmed Benhali said that the fight against terrorism would top the agenda of the Arab League summit scheduled on July 26-27 in Nouakchott, Mauritania.

“The issue of terrorism and its impacts on the Arab national security will be at the centre of Nouakchott summit works,” said the Arab official in an interview with Mauritanian radio.
He added that different approaches to countering terrorism will be discussed at the two-day meeting.
Benhali said the holding in Nouakchott of the Arab summit will mark a breakthrough for the Mauritanian diplomacy on the Arab-African and international levels.
According to the Organisers, the principle of the force was decided at the last Arab Summit organized in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh in 2015.
This year’s summit would also be an opportunity for the Heads of State of the League to revisit all of the crises in the Arab world including Libya, Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Palestine.
The Egyptian president Abdel Fattah al-Sissi and king Salman of Saudi Arabia are expected in the Mauritanian capital for the summit.
Despite the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court ,Sudanese President, Omar Al Bashir is also expected to participate in the two days meeting .
