Six-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt is scheduled to compete in the men’s 100 meters final early hours on Monday, which is also Father’s Day in Brazil.
Rio Olympics: Bolt's parents seek aspiring feat
Despite many predictions that he might loose the title to the U.S’. Justin Gatlin, his parents have remained optimistic that he will win his races especially the 100m race.
“Well, back home in Jamaica, he usually gives me present on each Father’s Day. Winning the 100 meters in Brazil on the Father’s Day will be one of the most important presents he’s ever given to me,” said Wellesley Bolt.
And Wellesley said even when competing against the likes of American Justin Gatlin, his son has always been a winner.
“Well it’s no difference. He always has them to deal with and he has always topped them so it will be no difference,”
Bolt is seeking to secure a “triple-triple” in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 4×100m relay and mother Jennifer Bolt was confident he would do so.
“It’s really nice to be in Brazil, although the weather is a little cold. But being here, we are awaiting Usain’s run. I know it’s a bit nerve-wracking. But I’m awaiting his run because I know he will be doing very good,” Jennifer said.
The Jamaican superstar, who turns 30 later this month, has said this will be his final Olympics, but insists the lure of the big championships remained strong.
