Durban is seen as one of the major centres of tourism in South Africa because of the city’s warm subtropical climate and extensive beaches. Last week, it hosted the World Economic Forum on Africa, an opportunity to rebrand itself following a lost bid to host the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
