Guinea Bissau: Protesters ask José Mario Vaz to step down
The protesters and forces of law and order clashed in an exchange of stones and tear gas which left many injured in the two camps.
The event was organised by a civil society organisation, close to the ruling party which for several months now has been requesting an end to the political crisis in Guinea Bisau urging president Vaz to resign.
In an interview published on Friday by several local media, José Mario Vaz did not express any willingness to quit power. He instead said he has a goal to develop Guinea BISAU and “must achieve that goal using all means possible.”
