Government authorities in Benin have banned the sale of a popular milk product in the entire country. Producers of Celia milk and products have been accused of selling contaminated products.

Health officials have directed all Celia products be removed from all stores in the country till investigations are concluded.
The contamination has been linked to an identical bacteria that had already struck the factory in 2005.The President of the consumer associations strongly criticized the company.
In 2005, the Celia group was sued on the same claim of selling contaminated milk products.
They were accused for “involuntary injuries” and “endangering life of others”.
